Several single crystals and powder samples of ammonium tartrate, recently proposed as a possible ESR dosimeter, have been X-irradiated with different doses. The total radical concentration has been determined by quantitative cw ESR, by comparison with a standard. The samples have been studied by electron spin echo spectroscopy. The two-pulse echo decay has been obtained and simulated by a single exponential function for different values of the microwave power of the pulses and for different pulse lengths. The dependence of the phase memory time TM on the microwave power has been exploited to get information on the contribution of the instantaneous diffusion to spin dephasing. At room temperature in the range of radical concentrations of 10(18)-10(19) spins/cm3 the instantaneous diffusion is the dominant spin dephasing mechanism. The linear dependence of the instantaneous diffusion on the total concentration of the radicals is in agreement with the theory. From the latter result we conclude that the average radical-radical distance corresponds to a random distribution of the radicals in the matrix. A simple method of measuring the radical concentration by the ESE decays in powder samples of irradiated ammonium tartrate is described.  相似文献

A pulse sequence producing a second stimulated echo is suggested for the compensation of relaxation and residual dipolar interaction effects in steady gradient spin echo diffusometry. Steady field gradients of considerable strength exist in the fringe field of NMR magnets, for instance. While the absolute echo time of the second stimulated echo is kept constant throughout the experiment, the interval between the first two radiofrequency pulses is augmented leading to a modulation of the amplitude of that second stimulated echo by self-diffusion only. The unique feature of this technique is that it is of a single-scan/single-echo-signal nature. That is, no reference signals neither of the same pulse sequence nor of separate experiments are needed. The new method was tested with poly(ethylene oxide) melts and proved to provide reliable data for (time dependent) self-diffusion coefficients down to the physical limit (D approximately 10(-15)m(2)/s) when flip-flop spin diffusion starts to become effective.  相似文献

We have studied the properties of the relativistic helium fragments emitted from the projectile in the interactions of 24Mg ions accelerated at an energy of 3.7 A GeV with emulsion nuclei. The total, partial nuclear cross-sections and production rates of helium fragmentation channels in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions and their dependence on the mass and energy of the incident projectile nucleus are investigated. The yields of multiple helium projectile fragments disrupted from the interactions of 24Mg projectile nuclei with hydrogen H, light CNO and heavy AgBr groups of target emulsion nuclei are discussed and they indicate that the breakup mechanism of the projectile seems to be independent of the target mass. Limiting fragmentation behavior of fast-moving helium fragments is observed in both the projectile and target nuclei. The multiplicity distributions of helium projectile fragments emitted in the interactions of 24Mg projectile nuclei with the different target nuclei of the emulsion are well described by the KNO scaling presentation. The mean multiplicities of the different charged secondary particles, normally defined shower, grey and black ( ns, ng and nb) emitted in the interactions of 3.7 A GeV 24Mg with the different groups of emulsion nuclei at different ranges of projectile fragments are decreasing when the number of He fragments stripped from projectile increases. These values of ni ( i = s, g, b and h particles) in the events where the emission of fast helium fragments were accompanied by heavy fragments having Z 3 seem to be constant as the He multiplicity increases, and exhibit a behavior independent of the He multiplicity.  相似文献

A decay spectroscopy study of the neutron-rich cobalt isotopes has been performed using fragmentation of a 86Kr36+ beam and the new LISE2000 spectrometer at GANIL. For 71Co and 73Co, the -delayed radiation has been observed for the first time, and the half-lives were found to be 79(5) ms and 41(4) ms, respectively. Features of the decay are discussed qualitatively in terms of nuclear models.  相似文献

A new implementation of a described data processing for measuring small scalar coupling constant J is proposed. It is applied particularly to situations where the coupling constant is around the linewidth at half-height, and in the presence of chemical exchange. This modified data processing uses only a simple "one-pulse" experiment instead of a series of spin echoes experiments required by the previous processing. The FID recorded in the one pulse experiment is used by a reconstitution program to generate a set of signals, which are analyzed in the time domain to obtain a spectrum where the scalar coupling constant is apparently multiplied by n+1, where n is positive. The new processing is tested with simulated spectra. The coupling constant between proton and deuterium is measured in the proton spectrum of a solution of 80% of D(2)O and 20% of H(2)O. It was found to be J=1.54+/-0.01 Hz.  相似文献

We have obtained theoretically an expression for the nuclear free precession signal in an inhomogeneously broadened spin system with a complex structure of the NMR spectrum. It is shown that in this case in the nuclear precession signal there appear maxima the moments of whose formation depend on the detuning of the pulse carrier frequency from the central frequencies of the NMR lines, their widths, and the Rabi frequency. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental data on the observation of proton free precession in toluene. We have constructed a physical model explaining the appearance of maxima in the free precession signal of the spin system.  相似文献

Nutation echoes are generated by radiofrequency (RF) pulses with an inhomogeneous amplitude, B(1) = B(1)(r), in inhomogeneous magnetic fields, B(0) = B(0)(r). The two gradients of strengths G(1) and G(0), respectively, must be aligned in parallel for a maximum echo signal. After two RF pulses, two echoes appear at times tau(a) = 2 tau(1) + tau(2) + (G(1)/G(0))tau(1) and tau(b) = 2 tau(1) + tau(2) + 2(G(1)/G(0))tau(1), where tau(1) is the RF pulse duration and tau(2) the interpulse interval. It is shown that these echoes can favorably be employed for the determination of self-diffusion coefficients even in the poor experimental situation one often faces in low-resolution or low-field NMR. The signal intensity is comparable to that of ordinary Hahn echoes. Diffusion coefficients and spin-lattice relaxation times can be evaluated from the same experimental data set if both nutation echoes are recorded. Test experiments are in good agreement with literature data. Applications of the technique to "inside out" NMR, well logging NMR, surface coil NMR, toroid cavity NMR, etc., are suggested.  相似文献

A four-pulse version of the pulse double electron-electron resonance (DEER) experiment is presented, which is designed for the determination of interradical distances on a nanoscopic length-scale. With the new pulse sequence electron-electron couplings can be studied without dead-time artifacts, so that even broad distributions of electron-electron distances can be characterized. A version of the experiment that uses a pulse train in the detection period exhibits improved signal-to-noise ratio. Tests on two nitroxide biradicals with known length indicate that the accessible range of distances extends from about 1.5 to 8 nm. The four-pulse DEER spectra of an ionic spin probe in an ionomer exhibit features due to probe molecules situated both on the same and on different ion clusters. The former feature provides information on the cluster size and is inaccessible with previous methods.  相似文献

The response of the spin system has been investigated by numerical simulations in the case of a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment performed in inhomogeneous static and radiofrequency fields. The particular case of the NMR-MOUSE was considered. The static field and the component of the radiofrequency field perpendicular to the static field were evaluated as well as the spatial distribution of the maximum NMR signal detected by the surface coil. The NMR response to various pulse sequences was evaluated numerically for the case of an ensemble of isolated spins (1/2). The behavior of the echo train in Carr-Purcell-like pulse sequences used for measurements of transverse relaxation and self-diffusion was simulated and compared with the experiment. The echo train is shown to behave qualitatively differently depending on the particular phase schemes used in these pulse sequences. Different echo trains are obtained, because of the different superposition of Hahn and stimulated echoes forming mixed echoes as a result of the spatial distribution of pulse flip angles. The superposition of Hahn and stimulated echoes originating from different spatial regions leads to distortions of the mixed echoes in intensity, shape, and phase. The volume selection produced by Carr-Purcell-like pulse sequences is also investigated for the NMR-MOUSE. The developed numerical simulation procedure is useful for understanding a variety of experiments performed with the NMR-MOUSE and for improving its performance.
